Bright Circle Letters Freebie

I made these bright letters to label my math, writing, reading, jobs, and scoreboard for my bulletin boards.  I also made labels for my folder baskets and centers.  

Copy them onto cardstock and laminate them.

Monsters Galore in Room #4

I bought the pom poms from Hobby Lobby.  All three colors were in one package but you can also buy packs of one color.  They also have purple, orange, yellow, black, polka dot and I'm sure more!  They are easy to make by yourself too by googling directions but I was being lazy!!

I hot glued craft foam pieces, pipe cleaners, pom poms and paper to make monster faces.  What fun!  I loved making these guys!  They are so cute. 

Last year I had my first grade students paint these monsters with crayon resistance. I saved them over the summer and added them to my board.  I'm moving up a grade so when they come on Back to School night they will get to see their monsters on the wall. My daughter, Abby, hung this all up for me.  What a big helper.

Lovin' this Border!

Frog Street Press has these cute double sided borders!  I love the colors!
       
I put up my boards yesterday but of course forgot my camera!  Hopefully, I'll get in next week.  All my furniture is in the hallway yet.  Getting me a bit nervous.

Our school is starting a new Jump Start Summer School next week.  Students who are recommended by their teachers start school 2 weeks earlier than everyone else.  Only 10 allowed per class.  We'll see how it turns out.  Anyone else do something like this?

CAFE Headers - FREEBIE

I see that there are quite a few of you reading The Sisters books right now.  I loved reading those books and I keep them by me when I'm teaching (like a Bible)!  Click on the book to go their website.

I put up a bulletin board in the room to hang up the rules and techniques.  This was my CAFE board before I made my new headers.  I'm sorry I don't have a current photo.  I now use mini-pocket charts to put the techniques into.  It works wonderfully.

Update!!

Here's the board with the pocket charts!  It made it so easy.  I loved that I could take the skill in and out of the pocket to show the class or hang it up front and center to focus on the one we were working on!

The green basket on the unfortunate microwave spot held my cards.

Spring into Blends

Some of my kiddos needed a refresher with blends and digraphs.  This interactive bulletin board was a great way for them to review.  We worked on it as a small group but it could also be a center or individual assessment.

I used two sizes of flower notepads.  The larger flowers are programed with the blends and digraphs.  The smaller flowers are programed with a picture.  I used these pictures.  Click here for pictures.  Click here for labels.

Each large flower has a small magnet in the corner.  The small flower has a paper clip taped to the back.  I also wrote the answer on the back very lightly so they could self-check.  Mine are laminated for duribility.
